I have a brass stopper with linkage that will not hold water in my bath tub. I removed the linkage and stopper and found no problems with anything. I removed the stopper from the linkage and tied a string to it to try and see if I could get the tub to hold water while I played with the stopper. It seems like when I get the stopper in place to hold the eater in the tub the water is bypassing the brass stopper and drain into the overflow. The drain is not clogged it's draining better than ever. I though maybe the drain had a break somewhere but at this point I would be flooded out on my first floor. Help please!!

Understand you have the brass cylinder and at the end of the linkage see the image below, you tried the string and it didn't work may be you need a new bucket see the image below, good luck.

This is an international site, so now possibly everyone from Katmandoo to US has your e mail address, probably inviting some unsavory characters. Best to remove it from here and send afaroo a private message including your email address Scotty.
