I believe it was one of those black and white late 30's or 40's gothic romance films like Jane eyre or wuthering heights which I am trying to find and play... there are a few versions of each... so going through those.. quite scary mad woman kept in attic or room for years... thank you though I appreciate it still looking if you happen to mention it to some old film buff... she is chained to the wall and lashing out at whoever comes in...
