Hi everyone,

Couple days go a child of mine let a little baby doll washrag slip down the drain of the bathtub upstairs. Now the sink in the kitchen downstairs backs up. Dishwasher and everything else works fine. Snaked the bathtub and there is nothing there, I guess it went further down. Tried liquid plumber(or something like that), it didn’t help. So everything works fine in the house but the bathtub upstairs and kitchen sink. Sink drains superslow. We can’t snake the kitchen drain(that what the plumber said). The plumber also said that he doesn’t know what’s wrong. We have no basement or crawlspace. I ran some water down the vent pipe, it backed up the sink. Any ideas?

Thank you

Should be able to snake the kitchen drain by removing the P Trap. Was this done?

We can't snake the kitchen drain(that what the plumber said).
Why not?

Obviously the tub and kitchen drains tie together and the cloth has made it past the point where the kitchen drain ties in. It also has mot made to the point where the tub/kitchen drain ties into the main drain.

Dishwasher and everything else works fine
Normally dishwashers tie into the sink drain in the cabinet under the sink. Blockage must be far away enough for the pipes to hold the water from the dishwasher.

I ran some water down the vent pipe, it backed up the sink.

Another indication that the blockage is in the kitchen drain before it reaches the main drain.

If you really can't snake from the kitchen drain (which I don't believe) go up on the roof and snake from the vent pipe. While snaking, run water down the kitchen sink so you know when you have cleared the blockage.
