My last normal period was from October 19 or 20 through the 26. I normally bleed for 6 days. On Nov. 8 my boyfriend and I wanted to try sex which would be my first time. I am 22. We did not continue because it was so painful for me. However, before we tried, I did notice pre- on his penis. On Nov. 14, I started to bleed. I thought this was my period, but I would have been a week early. I bled for 2 days normal, the third day I spotted, fourth day bled, and fifth day spotted. I went to the health center at my college and got a pregnancy test. It was negative. They told me it could be from an hormonal imbalance, but this has never happened before and my periods are normal. The Dr. recommended birth control. From then I have been very gassy and bloated. This is my last pill for my birth control until I take the remaining sugar pills (placebo). I finally lost my virginity on November 28 and we had sex again on November 29. A condom was used. Starting on Dec. 3 and continuing I have noticed some strange symptoms. I have been having shortness of breath, serious bloating, abdominal and back cramps, pink and brown (both light) discharge, mucus, and red tissue that would be found in the toilet after I urine. No nausea nor tender breast. Can someone help me?

It's more likely that your body is adjusting to the birth control pills. If the shortness of breath is pretty noticeable, it would be wise to see your doctor as there can be some serious side effects to hormonal forms of birth control and not everyone can use them. Sometimes a change to a different sort works better. Birth control pills can also alter your cycles at first, and cause midcycle spotting, so it wouldn't be unusual to be irregular for the first cycle after starting the pills.

See what happens when you would expect your next period. You can always try a pregnancy test if it doesn't show.
