Why does my central heating unit stay? / I changed the thermostat on the wall and put a new one in. the blower motor no longer runs. The heating element stays on.

Look's like the fan relay is bad (IFR2).

The thermostat may have to be configured for electric heat. Refer to the installation booklet which came with the new thermostat.

Grady I replaced with the same type. I brought both at the same time years ago. Do you think maybe the 3 pole sequencer is bad? Is it part of the fan relay?

Your unit doesn't have a sequencer. The contactor pulls both heat strips in at the same time. If the heating elements are coming on the contactor is good. I would replace the relay (IFR2).

With the fan not running the limit switch should shut off the element's.
