You don't have to at all, some shave, some don't, good subject to discuss with your mom, ( really)

Some shave if it is going to show around the edges of a swimsuit. I do agree with everything Fr. Chuck stated. And, I'd like to reinforce that it probably is best to speak with your mom since she would know you the best. If no mom available, then a female gym or health class teacher.
You might also want to check out the following sites, since they do address the issue of shaving pubic hair.

A particularly good answer is found on the following site concerning the following question:
Different kinds of bikini waxes are popular now. Does it matter if I remove most of my pubic hair?

Hun, it is all a matter of preference. You can if you want to, but you don't have to.

First thing anyone should think of before they start shaving or plucking any hair from any area of your body is,... It will grow back and it will grow in thicker and darker. I agree that this is a matter that you should discuss with the parent of your choice.
I also agree that this is entirely up to you and what you think is right for you. If you don't find it a big deal right now, then don't worry about it.
