When young I saw a movie in black and white that was intriguing and electrifying. The movie dealt with treasure seekers and a old treasure chest was found. The chest killed everybody who tried to open it. After several attempts, and dead bodies, it was found that when an attempt was made to open the chest that a thin pair of carefully crafted and hidden scissor blades came out horizontally, then sliced their victim and retracted back into the treasure chest.

It seems that I have connected this movie, in my mind at least, with Alfred Hitchcock. I have gone through his movies online but have come up empty handed.

I was an awesome movie so help me if you can.

Thank you

Hi Chuckyb - in your title, you mention 'The Golden Bug' - there is an Edgar Allen Poe short story regarding a gold bug and treasure called The Gold Bug. In 1953, an episode of the TV anthology program 'Your Favorite Story' aired, called The Gold Bug. I am not having any luck finding a trailer or detailed synopsis of this episode, but does that ring a bell?
