Last night, I was telling my brother about the low water pressure, especially the hot water I get in my kitchen faucet. He looked underneath the sink and turned the hot and cold water shut-off valves, so no water came out. Afterwards, he turned them back on and checked the water. I thought everything was back to normal. However, the next day I had no hot water coming out of my kitchen faucet. Prior to my brother turning off the valves, I did get hot water (the pressure was just low). I have turned the hot and cold shut off valves on and off numerous times, but only the cold water works. What happened to my sink? It's a single-lever faucet with the extendable hose. There are no kinks in the hose. I have not checked the dishwasher. The faucet if fairly new as the kitchen was done over within the past 5 years. I just bought the house a month ago. Water heater is electric with 80 gallon tank. I don't understand why it doesn't work just from shutting off the valve. The weather has not gone below 50 degrees.

The house has 2 full baths. I have had the hot/cold water pipes turned off in the guest bathroom for about 3 weeks while I have been trying to install a new vanity, paint etc. But not sure this would impact the kitchen in any way. I tried to connect the supply lines in the guest bathroom yesterday, but my supply lines were too short.

House was built in 1975, 3 bedroom ranch.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

First thing to do.
Remove and clean aerator.

If that does not work post back.

If the cold side is OK, then you have problem with the hot supply line on the hot angle valve, close the angle valve under sink and disconnect the supply line from the faucet open the angle valve slowly see if the water is flowing then the problem is with hot port of the faucet if no flow check the supply line for any obstruction if that is OK your angle valve is at fault, good luck.
