A friend of mine from Ontario was busted with a very small amount of pot, and was issued a court date, she left the country two days after the arrest. She now lives abroad, has a common law husband, and a baby. She has a dying relative, and would like to come back to Canada, will she have had a bench warrant issued? And will she be arrested if she flies back to Canada? The cop who arrested her stated that he would never bother with that small amount of pot, except they wanted the guy who sold it to her.

If she got a court date and left the country, and has not re-entered or tried to (she would be flagged), so yes there will be a bench warrant on her. If she wants to return to Canada then she will have to come clean.
