I received an e-mail telling me to appear in court in my spam folder. I couldn't open the attachment and was unable to read details. I thought it might have been a virus email... and then deleted it inadvertently.

Now just want to confirm if the court will send email to notify the appear the details via email. Also, how and where I can confirm such notification and retrieve the details.

Email doesn't count as being properly served. THat would have been required to have been sent to the last known physical address they could find for you, in writing.

I myself will never open an atachment from an unknown or unexpected sender. And will and do simply delete them unread.

You should not even be LOOKING in your spam folder!! I never ever do. You could have let in a virus just by trying to open the attachment. In fact these days it's possible to let one in just by clicking on the email.

You would know if you might have to appear in court. Why do you think this might be legit?
