Commercial building
170 degree water crossing over into cold pipes
Possible problem is the temper valves
I would like to install check valves
Question: do I have to use spring loaded check valves or can
I use a swing check valve instead, or is there a better solution other than installing a separate water heater specifically for the sinks.

The single lever faucets have been isolated so I know they are not the problem

Hi 1Plumber

The spring loaded check valve closes faster and is less likely to produce a water hammer effect, so I would suggest using them in this application. To be sure, this is the best option for you, I would also suggest that you call the manufacturer of the tempering valve and get their input on this. You can never go wrong consulting the manufacturer of the valve, for sure!

This type of problem can happen at a single handled faucet. How long has it been going on?

Agree, for sure, but 1Plumber said, "The single lever faucets have been isolated so I know they are not the problem"...
