Sorry Parents

We own a vacation home in FL. We allowed our daughter , son in law, and their children to move in with the understanding that they would pay the utilities keep up the house and yard and that he would work part time and go to school. In exchange we would allow them the use of the house, internet and the car we keep there. They have never paid a dime in utilities or attempted to have them put in their name, our insurance was almost canceled on us because the yard looks like the house was abandoned, he attended one class for a few days before quiting and has not had a job in the year they have lived there. There was not a written agreement and since they were not paying rent I'm not sure how to evict them Technically they are not renters nor are they squatters We are going into debt letting them stay there but don't know the right avenue to get them out since there is no lease and they weren't required to pay rent.

Give them a 15-day written notice to move out. If they fail to move out by the end of that period, sue them for eviction.

Technically and legally they are renters, they merely do not pay rent. Payment of rent, does not effect eviction, you evict them, just like anyone else.

You include sue them for any damages, for upkeep, and for unpaid electric and other utilities
