Hi,
Something like 10-15 years ago I saw the last 10 minutes of a movie that looked really interesting. It was about a young man who was arguing with his parents and he seemed very generally distressed, abrupt and rude, possibly mentally handicapped. I think the movie might have been black and white, but was recently made.
What I really remember was the ending; the young man was running along the beach in sort of a dream sequence, with his parents running with him. As he ran, one by one his parents stopped behind him, which I gathered signified their deaths during his life. The movie ended with a side shot of him continuing to run. I thought it was very moving, or at least potentially so.
I don't want to lead anyone down a rabbit hole, but I think the actor was very reminiscent of either Matthew Modine or Crispin Glover in terms of facial structure and attitude. Sadly my memory is fuzzy. I've looked for the movie a few times in the years since but never found an answer. Might have been made for TV, or maybe even a short.
Anything you can offer might be helpful! Thanks!
