Craftsman chainsaw used twice been in storage for 7 years went to use and pulling to start is difficult sometimes stopping in mid pull very hard on hands

There is liquid in the cylinder, i.e. fuel mix. Liquid does not compress. Pull the plug and pull it over to expel the fuel mix (switch to Off to prevent a fire.) This would suggest either over-choking or a carb problem.
