The Air Force has instituted a completely illegal, illogical and unconstitutional mandatory religious oath in order to serve. A technical sergeant stationed at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada is being denied reenlistment unless he agrees to swear “so help me god.”

Sounds like ISIS to me - NOT the US. Your victory in Hobby Lobby does NOT mean Christians get to run roughshod over the rest of us. STOP IT! RIGHT NOW!

Yes, it does sound like they are crazy. The oath, should have changed years ago.

Take a long hard look at the Commander-in-Chief. That's where all orders and policies originate from, and who bears ultimate responsibility.

I hight doubt that... but its immaterial in this matter.. in the armed forces as in most private companies, a persons superiour is responsible for the actions of those under them (actually even more so in the armend forces), all the way up the ladder. EGRO... the buck stops on Barry's desk in this case. THey are really quick to grab the glory when there is some to be had..they also bear the responsibility on the other end as well when that happens.

Article 6 of the US Constitution :
All Debts contracted and Engagements entered into, before the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be as valid against the United States under this Constitution, as under the Confederation.

Requiring him to say ''so help me God" is as much a Constitutional violation as denying him the right to say it at the end of the oath .Saying it should be voluntary.

This is not as issue for CIC . Here is the public law. Congress needs to change it or it will and should be struck down by the court .

10 U.S. Code § 502 - Enlistment oath: who may administer:
(a) Enlistment Oath.— Each person enlisting in an armed force shall take the following oath: “I, XXXXXXXXXX, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”
(b) Who May Administer.— The oath may be taken before the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary of Defense, any commissioned officer, or any other person designated under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Defense.”

And should Presidents say "God bless America" at the end of a speech? They all do.

nothing forces them to say it and nothing should prohibit it.
