Hello

My name is Summer Steele and looking for a new OB GYN. I had a daughter last year the month of march, I was put on the depo shot soon as I left the hospital but due to complications I switched to the pill. I stopped taking the pill this April a week after I stopped I had bleeding for about 3-4 days then in June I had a real period the whole 5 days it stay on it wasn't light it was heavy like my periods normally be. But now it's September I've have yet to have another period, I've been feeling queasy, sleepy, moody, bloated, my breast are larger and itch from time to time, I get head aches and can be very emotional. I took at pregnancy test today not this morning and got a negative on the test but something is telling me that I am indeed pregnant.

Is there any explanation to this, do I need blood drawn ?

It's possible that your cycles are off from the depo. Even one injection can alter cycles for a time, and keep in mind that it's effectiveness lasts for quite a number weeks, so it hasn't been out of your system for very long.

Since you are having symptoms of a possible pregnancy, it would be wise to see your doctor for a blood test. For urine tests, it is recommended to use first morning urine for a higher concentration of hcg if pregnant. Otherwise it can be helpful to avoid too much fluid intake, or using the toilet, for several hours before testing later in the day.
