Due to the cost of high payment to divorce attorneys, I opted to purchase a program online which they provide the documents, complete portions with personal information submitted and then return for completion and mailing.
This was done and sent to my ex for signing (whom said it would be signed and there was no contest to the divorce). However; the signed documents have not been returned and it has been a month now. We've been separated for 7 years (living apart) and I feel it's now time for both of us to move on with our lives.
What is the time (separation) that is acknowledged for a divorce? Is the time acknowledged in all states? Also, does the online divorce documents hold up as authentic in court?
I appreciate any and all information you can provide. Thank you!

States vary on the issues of separation and divorce, but I'd imagine 7 years apart is plenty to proceed. Internet documents can be OK, but you need to make sure they meet all the criteria for your state. You can usually find pro se (do it yourself) documents on line through a state link.
