All the electrical is off, refrigerator and freezer is working. Display reads 5b.

Do you have a manual to determine what the code 5b means?

Could it be S(ess) b, rather than 5b?
I am finding references to Sabbath Mode (Sb) when I try to research your ref. to 5b.

"Typically SB indicates that the unit is in Sabbath Mode. It is a feature that disables portions of the refrigerator and its controls in accordance with observance of the weekly Sabbath and religious holidays within the Orthodox Jewish community. Sabbath Mode is turn(ed) ON and OFF by pressing and holding the down arrow on freezer temp and up arrow on refrigerator temper for five seconds."
