Its crank but not starting... timing belt was making loud noise when I got the car..

Well then I have to ask....did you check the belt? Is it broken? Did it jump time?

No. I haven't check the belt yet.. but last time I drove it suddenly died in the middle of the street...

You need to check the belt. Seems kind of like it would make sense if the belt was making noise then the car died in the street....that perhaps the first thing to check would be the belt.

Bad sign. Sounds like the belt slipped or broke--the engine may now be toast, if it's an interference engine (likely).
