I don't know if this question has been asked before, but symantec auto protect keeps showing me warning about winfixer when the pop up appears. I haven't installed it or anything but I don't ever want to see it again!
Is this possible?

When in doubt, scan it out!

Although I wouldn't recommend it,
You can always download more than one anti-virus software.
There are many that are free of charge.
AVG, AdAware, Many More.

If you think a file is suspicious, scan it using either:
- Online malware scan (http://virusscan.jotti.org)
- http://www.virustotal.com *

For these threats, I'd advise looking into removal tools.
If it gets bad enough, and you can isolate exact threats, ill be glad to write up some removal tools for you.
