We have a well so after a power outage our well pump did kick out and needed to be reset. After that outage, our downstairs shower started to leak badly! And when I ran the sink in that bathroom I noticed a loud humming noise coming from anywhere there was a faucet. The shower was leaking so bad that we ordered a replacement cartridge et.c and it did make the crazy leaking stop. Well now, it seems like when someone is using another sink or bathroom or flushes a toilet- the shower starts leaking and the humming and vibrating will come and go. Sometimes, I need to turn the shower on and off to make the vibration and humming noise go away, it almost seems like it's a water pressure issue. If I turn the knob in the shower it will make it stop leaking. I am pretty much going insane with this water starting to leak on and off all day long- and the humming and vibrating I am worried about. I am not sure if this had anything to do with the power outage but this sequence of unfortunate events was immediately following that! Thank you for any input!

Seriously doubt that the power outage has anything to do with leaking shower.

You probably have sand or debris in shower valve or cartridge. Turn water off, remove cartridge, turn water on briefly to flush out valve. Rinse cartridge in a pail of water. Reinstall cartridge.

That in and of itself might not be so bad.
"tis folly to be sane in an insane world"

When you had the shower apart did you open the supplies for a moment to flush out any trash in the supplies and valve body? Always flush the lines when replacing the cartridge. When you work on a faucet you disturb minerals built up in the pipe walls. I would open up the shower valve and flush the valve out. Good luck, Tom
