In the shower after about 10 minutes the water pressure decreases, then the water comes out shuddering and it sounds like pipes are banging together.

Only in the shower? Could be a loose washer if an older 2 handle faucet or the main pressure reducing valve. Find the valve and see if that is where the noise comes from.
