It started with a sore throat one day, maybe a week ago. Then it went to a real bad cough. The tickling kind that is embarrassing because you can't stop easily. My head felt full of snot and ached often. Now, my gums are sore in a few places and my side is hurting when I cough. What is it an infection? I have a dentist appointment set for the 26th to get top extractions and dentures. What should I do? Lu

I'd see a doctor. It could be a sinus or throat infection, or?? Why wait any longer?
