My sink is stopped up, I took apart the plumbing under the sink, inserted a drain cleaning tool, it went in 25" but it did not help, is it possible it is going up the vent?

Hi vnvjames and welcome, are you saying it stopped at 25 inches? Or is that as long as the cleaning tool? That's not very far to clear a blockage.
