I had a pint of vodka Satuday, and was done at 4pm. I was surprised with a ETG alcohol test on Tuesday at 8pm. I am 5'7 and 250lbs. Will I test positive for alcohol?

What do you stand to lose?

You are out over 72 hours. I believe you have an excellent chance of passing. ETG will be negative in most people after 60 hours.

How is this a surprise... if you are under restriction from cunsuming alcohol you know you could get a test at any time and yet you drank. THere should be no surprise about it. That's whay they are called random tests... you know you can get notice to show up for one at any time so no surprise there.

If it's a workplace test then its under a whole different set of standards.

You are going to know in the next few days. All we can do is guess... the ony answer that matters is the one from the lab running the test. It might go either way.

IT honestly depends on your body. You had almost 80hrs but you also drank quite a bit. If you're used to downing a pint of vodka in an hour than chances are you could take longer to metabolise the alcohol and thus have more of the ETG/ETS in your Urine. There really isn't any way to say if you're going to pass or not.

A side note, have you looked up getting clean through a anonymous support group? Alcoholics Anonymous for example. IT sounds like you have a no alcohol order against you and you have a problem saying no.

Thanks AntC... I passed the test, but I was in stressing so much. I will not take any chances again while I am under supervision. It is just not worth it...

This is the best possible outcome. It might help to remove yourself from temptation. Maybe sign up for a AA. You don't need to be an alcoholic and it is a great support network that will help you. After you're out of supervision you can quit. It is all about what you need to do to get through this period of supervision. It might also teach you about moderation and drinking better and not more.

I have to agree with Craven... one of the really cool things about AA is that no one is going to tell you that your are an alcoholic... you don't have even have to want to quit drinking in order to attend open meetings... if you are just curious... even for people who do not have a problem with alcohol, AA is just a great group of people who are supportive and don't judge each other. On top of it,they don't tell you what you need to do... they offer suggestions you are free to take or leave and you get to hear people share their stories. Worth an hour of your life to check it out, I think.
