A family member of mine has been in the hole for a few months now and I would like to send them some money but I am unaware if they are able to receive it. They are still able to send & receive mail. ANY HELP?!

Have you looked for him on jpay.com? You'll have to know his DOC number. That's how I send money to my nephew-in-law who's in a CO prison. By the way, if he is still in the hole, he might not have privileges, especially to receive money.

No, I haven't looked on that website. I was just going to send the money from Western Union but thanks!

General population is when prisoners are in the main area of the prison, with the other prisoners that are behaving well.
In the hole means he's in solitary confinement, and he's likely had any privileges taken away.

An inmate never actually gets or handles the money. Money goes into a inmate account that the inmate can use for store use, and depends on prison other use. In some prisons, they are required to pay for phone calls, pay for doctor visits and mores.
If he is in "lock up" then he will not have store usage. But money sent, will go directly into his account,
As noted, the money in the mail, does not go to him, ever, it is taken out, by the person in the prison, who opens and reads the mail, and then sent to his account.

Wow, how about you with the attitude. Funny thing, I remembered your name and I looked at all your other threads...Not even one of them did you have where you didn't throw attitude at people. I really am surprised anyone here even answers or tries to help you anymore. I guess they just don't realize.
Anyway, Alty may not have understood what you meant when you said "What do you mean?" in response to WG but that does not give you the right to pull an attitude on her when she was trying to help you.

I guess you think you are clever and funny.
So when exactly are you going to clarify what you mean by what do you mean?
Oh wait - never mind. I doubt that anyone cares now.
