Effectivity of Spoon as an Electromagnet

What is the spoon made of. The answer will depend on the material it is made from

Assuming a fast food industry plastic spork... really, really bad.

Would have to be a ferrous spoon. 400 series stainless, commonly used in utensils, is magnetic. 300 series stainless, some used in hospital grade items in not magnetic. Check it with a magnet.
