My exwife requested a modification of child support for our two boys and we went to court on July 30, 2014. I was paying $100 a month that was court ordered and also giving her money off the books for daycare, clothes, shoes etc. I currently am making $12 hr. and work approximately 35-40 hrs. per week. Both of us completed the monthly worksheet as required. When we went to court her worksheet stated that she is currently paying $150 a week in after school care for our 7 yr. old son and they didn't require proof of this. I know that she does not pay this as I provided her money throughout the last school year and it was $60 per week. My current take home pay is anywhere from $900-$950 per month and the new order states $762 to be paid per month. There is no way I can pay for the room I rent with $138 and I unfortunately can't afford $3,000 for an attorney. I have read that I can file some kind of paperwork with the court as long as it's filed within 10 days. Is this correct? And if so what kind of paperwork is it. I want to support my two boys but I can't afford to give my whole paycheck to her! Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Were you in court when they figured out how much was owed in child support? Also 1/2 of the 150 for daycare can be 60 if she wasn't pushing it. How exactly was the support calculated and is this through a state agency or was this something you both tried to agree on ?

Also any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

But you said "we went to court...". That implies you were there. Did you say anything to judge that the amount leaves you nothing to live on?
