Hi guys-Our yardman lawn mower with honda engine won't start. After pulling you can hear a soft clang clang clang sound. (when the rope retracts). The last time I mowed last week it acted like it was going to die so I put gas in it and it ran fine for a while then it would die. I would restart it and it would run for a few seconds and make that clang clang clang sound. It also had smoke coming out of the side. Now it won't start at all. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would like to add if this is important to know that our mower is about two years old and we store it in the shed. We have mowed the grass several times this year-no problems.

Sounds like a thrown rod. Take the spark plug out . Put a small screw driver in the spark plug hole. Pull the cord (gently) if the screw driver moves in & out with the piston it is not the rod. Thomas
