We are interested in buying land and developing it into a neighborhood. We are trying to get estimates of all the costs. How much is the estimate of how much it will cost to lay 2,000 feet of water line? We will have the line laid 2,000 straight feet and then each homesite (12 homesites) will build a waterline connecting to it.
Thanks!

Hi Cmichelle

Sorry, but we could not possibly know anything about the cost of such a job as we have no idea of the soil conditions, depth to be run, permits, labor rates, etc. in your area. Obviously, you'll want to talk to some local excavating companies and the town/city hall to get you started on this.

Good luck!

Mark is absolutely correct. Are you aware of how many factors enter into your question?
Size and material of water line? Depth of trench? Costs of backhoe? union or nonunion labor? how many workers were there be on this job? If you can answer all those questions you can write up your own estimate. Good luck, Tom
