Using a fake CDN passport is a federal offence and no statute of limitation. Can be punishable any time with jail.

Also how was it used... and have you been charged.

Fake ID, and a fake passport can be a very serious offense.
Yes, jail time is possible

Any question regarding crime and punishment must include information as to where this occurred - i.e. was it in the US? If so, punishment will depend on your motive for commiting this forgery - i..e whether to smuggle drugs, commit terrorism, or pursue some other crime. You say you were caught at the airport, but were you arrested and charged at that time?

ebaines. Here is the background. It was a CDN passport. OP has already received answers.

To the OP. Yes, as I stated in your other thread, there is no statute of limitations on this type of criminal activity. In Canada you can still be charged and do jail time.

Bearing a false passport is crime enough. I told you it is a Federal offence punishable by incarceration. That falso passport is a matter of record now and will always be

If you were caught when you tried to use it were you not punished at that time? What happened when you were caught?

I am very curious as to the rest of the story.

How did you get out of the country to study abroad after you were caught with a fake passport? Is this offense related to the check fraud issue (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/criminal-law/statute-limitation-cheque-fraud-796612.html )?

How many more issues occurred thirteen years ago are you worried about today? It might be easier to get it all out at once than one thread at a time.

Hmmm - I'm wondering where you are originally from? Are you from Europe? When you were caught at the airport with the passport, were you kicked out (for lack of a better term) of Canada and now want to see if you can come back?

The purpose of the false Passport was to Board a flight from Canada to europe,, no crime was committed...

The #1 crime was putting your picture on his passport.

Hi...

The fake Passport issue was taken to the prosecutor... but I left the country before the prosecutor could take me to Court...

I left With another passport, I want to Return to Canada,, and I am wondering how long will I be sent to jail for that,, the police officer I spoke to told me I could be asked to pay I fine,. I do not want to go to jail but I will be willing to pay a fine to Close the case

Is it possible to just pay a fine instead of going to jail? For how long can I be sent to jail for using afake Canadian Passport to Board a flight to europe... no crime was committed.. only using a false Passport to Board flight...

Abeby, or whoever, you know you are treading on a slippery slope here. First off no local constabulary can advise you on the consequences of trying to enter back into Canada after you exited on a phoney passport, I assure you it will not be just a fine. This is a matter for the RCMP, or if you don't know who they are, they are the equivalent of the FBI in the US. You have committed a serious offence, and I think I mentioned this before.

I suggest you hire an Immigration Attorney and get everything down pat that you understand.

We cant help you further here with this, and quite frankly as a Canadian, I hope you are prosecuted to the full extent.

They have your photo, its in the system, there might even be a warrant out on you since you took off before you could answer for your crime. Do yourself and everyone else a favor... stay where you are now... otherwise as tickle said... lets hope they take you in custody when you try to pass through immigrations.

And if they issued a warrant....that statute of limitations means nothing, because that clock stopped on the day it was issued.

I called the RCMP officer who Arrested me from europe and told him that I have left Canada for europe, he said he was going to Call the state prosecutor and inform him that I have left Canada,, so the prosecutor knows that I have left the country and she did not go to the court

You or the police have no way of knowing what the prosecutor has done without talking directly to prosecutor. And in 13 years no telling where your case is, or its current status. Likely its been buried under many other cases, for many years, but the current prosecutor would be the ones to talk to, and not a cop from 13 years ago.

I don't think you understand that this WAS a crime. So yes, a crime was committed.

Yes, you called a police officer from years ago. They would have no idea what as happened.

Also, if they took the passport, charges may have been filed when that happened.

And yes a crime happened, possession of fake ID, altering a Passport. All federal crimes.
