I found a little oval pill, a little bigger than a Xanax, which is light blue, and coated .

It looks like 7173 on one side, and 96 on the other.

Can anyone hep me?

The following site should give you your answer:

Pill Identifier - Drugs.com (http://www.drugs.com/pill_identification.html)

It's a seizure medication called Gabapentin, this could be extremely dangerous so you shouldn't take it for "fun" also saying it's smaller than xanax doesn't help and probably makes people assume you shouldn't have this info as you seem to know a lot about pills

Thank you for the info. I don't know much about pills. My father is Bi-polar, and is prescribed xanax. This is how I know what they are, and I am familiar with the fact that many people take them that don't need them. I don't take pills for fun or any other reason, but since someone gave my father this pill saying it was a xanax, I knew better and wanted to find out what it was.
