Hello. I'm a student on an F-1 visa. I'm interested in providing private tutoring services to students. I would use tutoring websites to connect with students. I would be considered an independent contractor (self-employed).

My question is: does tutoring a student in this manner constitute "on-campus employment"? If it does constitute on-campus employment, does that mean that I do not need to seek authorization from my university's international students office?

I forgot to mention: I would provide tutoring on-campus at the library. But I would not be employed by the university.

This is not "on campus employment". Being a F-1 student, you can not work as employee in US, but you can be self-employed or business owner.
