3D Tattoos: The Bizarre Body Art Trend That Is Spreading Across America Like Wildfire

Would you like to have a picture of a 3D demon exploding out of your chest? Would you like to make it look like an exquisite piece of art was carved out of your right leg? Would you like to see the shock on people's faces when they think that a real scorpion is sitting on your shoulder or a real snake is crawling down your back? In recent years, more Americans have been getting tattoos than ever before, but now a new body art trend is spreading across America like wildfire. 3D tattoos can be far more realistic than conventional tattoos, and many are choosing them for their pure shock value (http://www.dcclothesline.com/2014/02/19/people-undergoing-extreme-body-modifications-order-look-like-devil/). But how will all of these young people feel about their weird tattoos a decade or two from now? And what does all of this bizarre body art say about our society? Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Below are photos of 3D tattoos that I found on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Tattoos.Usa/photos_stream) and Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/daveinsanity/3d-tattoo/). At first glance, it is hard to believe that some of these are actually tattoos…

What you just saw are examples of what I thought that I could safely share.
There are a lot of other photos that were so demonic (http://www.dcclothesline.com/2014/05/31/demonic-hunky-jesus-contest-easter/) or so risqué that I felt that I just couldn't share them.
These 3D tattoos are part of a much larger trend known as “extreme body modification (http://www.dcclothesline.com/2014/02/19/people-undergoing-extreme-body-modifications-order-look-like-devil/)”. In this day and age, there seems to be a constant desire to “push the envelope” in the body art community. And what some people have chosen to do to themselves in the name of “art” is truly, truly bizarre. The following is a short excerpt from my previous article entitled “People Are Undergoing Extreme Body Modifications In Order To Look More Like The Devil? (http://thetruthwins.com/archives/people-are-undergoing-extreme-body-modifications-in-order-to-look-more-like-the-devil)“…
When does body modification go too far? In recent years, the popularity of tattoos and body piercings has soared, but now there are thousands of people around the globe that are taking body modification to ridiculous extremes. For example, would you be willing to have your tongue split in two so that you could have a forked tongue? What about getting eyeball tattoos or having titanium horns implanted in your head? To most people, doing such things would be unimaginable, but there is a growing subculture of individuals out there that truly seem to enjoy “pushing the envelope” and seeing what is possible. Some of them want to look like cats, some want to look like vampires, others want to look like aliens and some even want to look like the devil. Yes, you read that correctly. You are about to read about one man that is purposely modifying his body so that he will look as much like the devil as possible. In fact, he even plans to add a tail someday.

You can check out the rest of that article right here (http://thetruthwins.com/archives/people-are-undergoing-extreme-body-modifications-in-order-to-look-more-like-the-devil).
I have a feeling that most of these people that are mutilating themselves will end up deeply regretting it.
After all, the truth is that most forms of extreme body modification are not going to help you get a job or find a spouse.
But what do you think? Are 3D tattoos and other forms of extreme body modification a good thing? Please share your thoughts by posting a comment below…

I think they look pretty good....sadly I know of nobody in this area that would even be capable of doing something like that.

As for how will it look when they are older, it's always been the same thing with tattoos. I got some and the first thing I heard was the comment about how they will look when I get old. Who knows? Who cares.

With that said, there are some posted here that I would never consider...the one with the eyes, the mouth...stuff that is going to look utterly stupid when you're 70 or 80. Stuff that will scare babies, your grand kids.

I like the scorpion. Wish I could find someone to do a tarantula like that.

There were a couple more really good photos but there is apparently a limit of how many can be in a thread... not just a single post.

Odinn7 check that link and look at the spider one that I had to edit out of the post......I thought you would like that one.

Personally I've got none....saw too many old guys that got them in the service that were blurred and muddy decades later. Adn one ex-girlfriend that had some keyloid scars that resulted from laser surgery to attempt to remove some.

That and certain jobs actually would become off limits as they are highly identifiable body markings...(not my choice of words but those of several federal agencies).

I've never seen one of these in person yet.....so hard to tell if photos do them justice or make them look better than they do in person.

Never been much of a fan of tats. Can be career-limiting.

The spider one looks pretty good. I also wonder how they look in real life as opposed to pictures.

As for limiting careers...all of mine can be covered up easily. My wifes cousin has them all down his arms, on his hands, on his neck...now that is definitely something that many employers would turn away.

Exactly the reason I have none... not that I've never thought about it over the years. Some of the jobs that I had even the ones covered up would cause problems. Even if you wouldn't see them on the average beach.

where I come from it is acknowledged that tatoos are associated with a jail term so its a big turn off for employment

Love them but 3d tats so far are not on my list of what I want. I aim to get a full back piece next. The way I look at it is if people don't like my art work they don't have to look as it is my body. In my industry having tats are not looked down on in fact most (not all ) of the chefs, cooks I know have min of one. If my job fired me for having one and not working around it I would not mind it I would leave. I would be upset of their closed minded ideals but heck it is up to them and they have to live with their decisions just like I do. My body will tell a story of my life when I am gone : my abuses, my struggles, my challenges and my growth.
