My wife (age 31) is suffering from the problem of Heterotopic Pregnancy with one child in Uterus and other is in left fallopian tube. It's a case of ecotopic pregnancy

She has around 8 weeks child in Uterus and a Yolk sac of size (6.8*5.0*3.4 cm) is seen in left tube. This got detected in Ultrasound TVUS

Heart beat of the child in Uterus is detected but not located for the one in tube

We want to remove this mass from left tube without effecting the baby in Uterus.

What procedure should we follow? Should we go for medicated treatment or Surgery ?

Our doctor has told us to follow up with weekly ultrasounds to see the mass in left tube is shrinking in size or not

I will really appreciate if you can guide me on this ?

Hi rajat4368,

Your doctor is going to be the best person to advise you as each situation like this is very individual. There are guidelines that are used to determine which course of action would likely be best. In addition to the ultrasounds, your doctor may also order additional blood work to watch the progress of hcg.

Has your doctor discussed the pros and cons of each method and what guidelines that follow to determine when to intervene and which method to use?

I'm sorry to hear that you and your wife are having to go through this experience. Please let us know how things go... wishing you and your wife a smooth pregnancy after this is resolved.

Yes, fully agree with DoulaLC. This medical condition is well above our expertise and should be discussed at length with your wife's OB/GYN as this can become a serious health problem for your wife and embryos. Where are you located?
