Good day,

Less than two weeks ago I took the morning after pill. I recently started with the pill. (Marvlelon) I've been on it for 5 days. I have had unprotected sex during my period.
My period is now coming to an end.
Is it possible that I could fall pregnant? Do I need to take the morning after pill again to prevent pregnancy?
I am fully aware that taking the morning after pill is not a method of contraception and should not be taken as often as I have been doing.
I don't want children right now, but I truly want my own some day. I realize taking the morning after pill so often is no good for my system. Will this affect my ability to fall pregnant one day?
I am very confused and need you advise please.
Thank you.

While not as likely, it is possible...

Please read the side effects of the morning after pill. Taking it often can be very dangerous, with lasting side effects

Hi miss_kylev,

You can take the morning after pill again for the peace of mind. Marvelon is one combination pill that starts out more effective than some others. Several you would need to be on for a longer period before they would be considered effective.

Pregnancy is going to be a possibility, even with birth control, so if you are concerned since you just started them with your period, use the morning after pill. Taking it a second time will not effect your future fertility.

Keep in mind that you may or may not experience some spotting or bleeding within several days after using it. Continue to take your regular birth control pills on time each day.
