I have tried everything to stop a shower tap dripping including changing the tap system etc. But still drips, what else could it be?

I have tried everything to stop a shower tap dripping including changing the tap system If this is a one handle valve, did you **
1- Shut the water off, open up the valve and pull the cartridge and check and clean the inlet ports?
2- While the valve was open did you turn the water back on for a minute to flush out the supplies?
Let me know. Back to you, Tom

Hi Dash

Did you change out the guts to the tap or did you actually change out the entire tap "system" (valve) for a new system? If you actually changed out the old tap and installed an entirely new tap and still have this problem then I would suggest that you determine the PRESSURE of the water coming into your home...could be that the pressure exceeds 80 PSI and is too much for the old/new tap. Here, simply purchase a HOSE BIBB pressure gauge (see images)...available at all home improvement stores...and install it to an outside faucet to see what the pressure reads on the gauge. Report back with pressure and we'll see what we think.

Otherwise, it is as Tom is suggesting above...sediment/debris caught up in the valve causing the issue (or if old tap is still present, damage to the body of the tap).

Back to you...
