Have A 2 Story House Finished Walkout Basement I Want To Remove Wall In Den Make One Large Room. There Is A Wall Directly Above The Wall In Basement But I Do Not Think Its Load Bearing Cause I Have Scissor Trusses Catheridal Ceiling Am I Right? So Wanting To Remove Both Walls Upstairs And In Basement But I'm Guessing Down Stairs Wall Is Load Bearing Supporting Floor Joist I'm Guessing not sure intell I do some investigating but pretty sure it is. So its 16' 2" in. span concrete basement floor I wanting to use a pine beam one 16 feet long 7 and 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and two 8 feet long 5 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide and could put corbels or braces on them using 8 feet long 4 1/2 inches high and 5 1/2 inches wide. Will this work any help I would be very grateful thanks!

No way to know from what you say. Trusses don't mean walls don't take some load, and walls also tie sides of houses in to keep them from racking. I wouldn't take down two 16' walls without an engineer or at least a good builder looking at it. Corbels/braces do little; support isn't the issue so much as load distribution. It's the posts at the ends of beams that carry load down, and what's under the posts is important too, right down through floor joists and even the concrete floor in the basement. You might need footings! We can't possibly know what you have and need.
