We have been experiencing a water issue that we believe is the tank. As we are running water for the washer, sink, shower, whatever, the water will just shut off. It's the original tank and we are wondering if that's where the problem is. Is there a way to reset the tank? What can be the issue?

Obviously you are on a well if you have a tank. Have you checked the well output, checked for a blown fuze etc?

What happens after it shuts off? Does it recover? If so, how long to recover?
It won't hurt anything to check the tank. Do two things:
1. There is a little air valve at the top of the tank. Press the valve a few seconds and see if water comes out. If it doesn't, then that is good.
2. With the power off, drain the tank pressure to zero by opening a low level faucet. Check the pressure at the top of the tank (air valve). It should read two pounds BELOW the cut in pressure. So if your pump cuts on at 30#, for instance, the tank pressure would be set to 28#.
Now having said all that, I don't think the tank is the issue, but check those items and get back with us.
