We have a Moen shower system with an IPS 5 1/2 inch tub spout with shower diverter. The problem is that Moen does not make this model any longer in the Antique Bronze that we have. I have found only slip-on tub diverter with close enoung color.

My question is, "Can I change the nipple from Brass (or Iron) nipple to a slip-on brass or copper pipe?" And, if so, how do I do that? I don't have an easy access to inshide the wall where the valves are.

Thanks.

Can I change the nipple from Brass (or no problems Iron) nipple to a slip-on brass or copper pipe?" And, if so, how do I do that? no problem! Simply take a wrench and unscrew the nipple. Purchase a 1/2 inch male adapter and about four or 5 inches of hard copper tubing. Solder on the adapter, Teflon tape the threads and screw it back into the valve body. You may now install your slip-on spout. Good luck, Tom
