Hello there,

I have recently purchased a Samsung Smart TV and also a Samsung sound bar.

The TV works fine, and connected to my internet connection with no fuss.
When it came to connecting the sound bar... I just haven't as yet. Firstly I tried connecting the available wires, but no sound. The optical audio cable doesn't come with the bar, so I didn't think it must need it, but I guess I was wrong.

I have now have received the optical audio cable from Amazon, only to find I can't seem to push it in. I have taken off the protection bulbs, but it must need to go in a certain way. My eyesight isn't that good, and I have tried and tried, I am worrying that I will break something.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It does have to go in a certain way... its not exactly square, so rotate it a little more in one direction each time if you can't see clearly enough to make out the shape and match it to the place it plugs in. Easy enough if you can see clearly.. might be a bit difficult if you can't.

As far as which input or cable you use... you have to configure the TV and the sound bar to use it.

The optical cable will give you the best sound quality... much better that the old style RCA cables.
