Hi,

I have a 28 day cycle and I am on the ortho evra patch I been on it for about a year and a half, usually change it every Thursday but this month I changed it to Sunday. My last period was on the 28th of the month and me and my boyfriend had intercourse a couple times between the 6th and the 11th of the next month . I been feeling nauseous for about a week now today it the 16th I also started getting mild head aches and mild dizziness and I been very tired and at night I really can't sleep is there a possibility of pregnancy?

When you start to switch up the days that you use a birthcontrol product it could open you up to pregnancy. You could be pregnant but you would have to wait until you miss your next period, which is the best symptom of pregnancy. The others could be PMS or a stomach flu. It is hard to say.

So what you will have to do is wait a little until you miss your period, about two weeks after you expect it to come, and take a home pregnancy test and use the early morning urine for best results. Until that point I would use a secondary form of birthcontrol until you know for sure. Continue using the patch of course.

For the past 2 weeks I been constantly nauseous some days it gets better other days it worsens I have also had days when I fell crazy tired . I have also had some headaches but as the days go by they seem to hurt more and it also hurts my neck. I have no history of headaches high cholesterol or anything of that type I'm just wondering what it could be. Anyone know what it might be?

If they are so bad... I'm assuming you have already seen your doctor about them (I would have)... they will have examined you and offered an opinion based on that exam and any tests run..

What did they say.

There are too many things that can cause headaches to possibly venture a guess on the internet.

Ok so I been feeling sick the past 3 weeks now the nausea is kind of lighter this week I went to the doctor and they said it was migraines not to worry but I just got my period a day early at first it seems normal and then out of the no where it stops I go to sleep wake up there is some blood in the pad but then later that day there is nothing not even on my urine... today it looks like its stopped already and my periods are usually 7 days long and today is barely day 3.. I tool a hpt and its negative and now my back feels like its super soar for no reason... I have also been in my because patch for 2 years... anyone knows what can be wrong?

It's quite possible that something hormonal is causing all your symptoms, rather than just migraines. It isn't always easy to get doctors interested in trying to go into depth on menstrual problems because they are so common, so varied, and so unidentifiable most of the time.
It's also possible that you are pregnant! You can't just take one HPT. You don't know if it was too soon. One day of bleeding can be just an unusual period or spotting during pregnancy.
It's also possible that you have any number of medical conditions that aren't really obvious yet, such as PCOS or something that might show on an ultrasound, and that test might be the next step.
Maybe you are reacting to the patch.
There are just too many possibilities.
So all you can do is keep taking HPTs (first urine) and explaining to the doctor. Keep it short and exact and concentrate on the worst symptoms, and write down dates. They still might not really listen.

Thank you so much for the helpful information...
Do you recommend taking off my because patch?
And how long should I wait to take another hpt?

You should be about 2 week late, to take another HPT for it to be more correct.

But as noted, it is really common for a lot of women to get a "off" period from time to time. Heavier, lighter and even missed once in a while.

Now I know everyone is different but I was on that same birth control when I was 15 I was only on it for a year because my period started to be irregular I'm 26 now and my period has never been the same I would go over a year with no period then when I finally got one it would last for months extremely painful heavy blood clots. I'm still.trying to figure out what it did to me... I also have been trying to conceive for a few years with no luck.. id talk to your dr about the side effects or do research of other women who had used it... sorry I don't trust that birth control that's my opinion...

No birth control is 100 percent effective. Some are better tan others, but even using two types, correctly, pregnancy is possible.

When and if, there is any error in the usage, the odds are increased.

Also, most birth control methods have side effects, again some more than others. This should always be considered.
