What are the proper requirements for plumbing drop coming into a sewage pump? I was told it is 1" per foot?

Hi Lonnascalif

In terms of proper pitch for a drain pipe going into a sewage ejector, a 3" or smaller drain pipe requires a minimum of 1/4" pitch per foot of pipe. If the drain pipe is 4" it can pitch at 1/8" per foot of pipe.

In terms of the discharge piping coming out of the sewage ejector and running over to the main drain pipe a 1/4" per foot is appropriate, but you could also run it at a 1/2" per foot of pipe.

1" pitch per foot of pipe is too much pitch...could leave solids behind in the pipe.

Mark is bang on! 1 inch slope is too much. Let me explain. Too much slope and the water runs out leaving solids behind. Too little sloped and the water cannot push the solids down the drain line. Good luck on your project, Tom
