My husband got this result... 45% live sperm 55% dead sperm cells, 88mins liquefaction, poor or fair motility... is this a big deal because we are trying to conceive...

What does your own medical practitioner have to say about these results ?

You really need to discuss this with your fertility specialist. The results really aren't favorable for conception to happen in the traditional way, i.e. intercourse.

Did you have the collection done at the doctor's office?

As J_9 said, further discussion with the doctor is needed. The results are below the norm in all areas. Perhaps a recommendation to a reproductive endocrinologist if this analysis was ordered by your regular doctor. The motility might improve once the liquefaction time improves. Was any further testing discussed for him and for you? Has the doctor discussed possible changes in lifestyle that may improve his results... such as diet changes, and stopping smoking, for example?

I'm really wondering here. Such an analysis is typically done by a fertility specialist. I can't imagine being given these results without a explanation. When my wife and I were going through conception issues, I had such an analysis and was given the results by our physician in a discussion about what it meant.
