Ok so.
I'm 17 and I just have a part time job at a yogurt store, I'm actually a manager there. I only make $8.50 an hour and I feel like I should be making more money. I've been there for almost a year now, and I don't feel appreciated. Most people from my training when the store first opened are now fired. The owners show a lot of favoritism. And the new people get a lot of that. I want to quit but in intimidated to give them my 2 weeks I don't know how to go about it. It was my 1st job and I've moved my way up there. I've made a lot of great friends there, and I'm sure I'll keep in touch with a few of them, but there's this one guy Dan that works there. We kind of barely talk but I really like him, and I would really like to get his number. I'm going into work tonight and he's going to be working. I just don't know how to go about hinting on the fact that I want to text him and talk to him like that. Other seniors from my school work there as well, so I don't know what he has heard about me. Urg I'm just looking for a cute guy friend and a new job!

Tell your boss you are giving your 2 week notice. Tell the boy you're leaving in two weeks and would like to keep in touch. You need to learn to speak up for what you want.

$8.50 an hour for a 17 year old is good money. Most people don't even have a shot at a pay raise more than once a year in any job. Also most food service workers rarely get rasises at all... If you have count your blessings... I know people that have gone 10 years working in a deli without a raise.

As to the rest... Homegirl50 has that right... You give your 2 week notice, thank them for the opportunities you have had, and the door will remain open if you ever need to come back. Never burn any bridges when you leave a job. Yes I know you are leaving on good terms.....but there will be jobs you leave in the future that you won't. You never know whos path you might cross again.

You want more money get a better job, or make plans too get more skills to get a better paying job. If you want to keep in touch with a guy beyond work, just ask him and see what he says. I can't advise quitting a job before you have a plan at least for another.

Fair warning though, you will hate the job even more if he has little or no interest, or has plans for romance that don't include you.
