Moved here 3 years ago. Not sure if the 3-compartment modad was new but the aerator was new. I had no prior experience with modad/septic systems. Company that installed the aerator came out several times because the alarm kept going off. They told me someone put in sanitary napkins and mop strings which I was shown but was absolutely not possible by me (unknown if I had enemies or how it got there). Since that was finally fixed about a year and half ago I did not have problems until...
Several months back I noticed the system was not running and when the reset button was pressed it kicked on and right back off. It didn't seem as if anything else was malfunctioning so I thought maybe it worked on some kind of timing thing.
Now one of my toilets (one that is used most) when flushed, started filling up to the rim near overflowing and going down slowly and then the water doesn't rise back up much. It got to where it seemed the water was getting slower going down so I had stopped using that toilet until I could ask someone and work on getting it fixed. It has been burping especially when I'm running the washing machine. And it seems that my shower drain may be filling quicker than usual; has puddle at start of shower. It's now about 3 weeks later since not using that toilet and I see a bunch of small, black bugs (I think) and possibly fluttering.
1. Am I looking at more than one issue?
2. Where should I start?
3. Once corrected what do I need to know so as not to cause problems myself?
I just read that I should have been using some kind of rid-x once a month yet some folks have had problems with it forming bugs. Also read that I should limit amount of laundry per day... had no idea.
4. It's only me so could I really be using too much water? I can't imagine what a family with kids would do.
Thanks for any advice provided!
