I have a section (approx 4-5') of baseboard hot water heating in my kitchen and want to know if it can be shut off or closed?

Hi Woog

Most hydronic heating baseboards are piped in a continuous loop so closing a section of will not usually work. In this case, to eliminate the baseboard section you would remove the section of baseboard and reconnect the pipe ends of the loop to make things work properly.

If however, your heating loop is a MONOFLO loop with two tee fittings going off to each separate baseboard then you can isolate the baseboard and simply cap the feed and return (two pipe branching off the loop) or join them together for best end result!!

That make sense?

Sorry! To answer your question we would have to be on-site and check for ourselves. Looks like it's time to call in some outside help. Good luck, Tom
