First, a slight clarification, which is minor.

A Fingerprint check, merely checks identity. It will compare your fingerprint with fingerprints on file. And see if you used any other name and verify identity.
A fingerprint check does not pull up criminal records.

After a fingerprint check, has found any and all names you have used. Then they will run a criminal records check. There are several National Data bases now, since the development of Homeland security. FBI records are only one of many data bases. The NCIC, is the most common with checks records from national criminal data base.

The records are still there, but only available for national security records. So if this position is one with certain security levels, it will be seen. If this is a normal position, that the information about the conviction is edited and not seen by the employer.

Yours is not, but there are separate data bases for elder and child abuse, for banking fraud and registered sex offenders.

Thanks was a little worried. I will be working at a college campus. Also with the ARD I never pleaded guilty but was arrested so my prints are probably still there. Is the expungment from PA courts fowarded to the FBI? Thanks
