In 1999 I was convicted of a third degree felony for slapping a child. Consider as child endangerment. At the time the child was under 18 years of age. I paid my fines and completed my 2 year probation. . To this day in present. 15 years and no occurrences Also at the time I was in the military and was not punished for the offense. I retired in 2002 with 20 years of service and was still able to use a weapon. I am planning on driving to Canada but have no idea which port of entry to use.. either buffalo or Detroit... can I be deemed as being rehabilitated and have access to Canada.. thanks John

This is a hard question to answer; what entry to use, Detroit or Buffalo, who knows for sure. Border records go way back and stay there. I suggest you contact Canada immigration to see if you will be allowed entry. It is worth a try seeing as if you get there and are denied, you have to turn back.
