Hello, I have no idea how to do this problem. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.A rectangular plate of height h feet and base b feet is submerged vertically in a tank of fluid that weights w pounds per cubic foot. The centre is k feet below the surface of the fluid where k > h/2. Find the fluid force on the surface of the plate in terms of the variables w, k, h, b.

Hint: pressure of the fluid acting on one side of the plate at any depth is depth times the density of the fluid. The average pressure acting on the plate is equal to the pressure at the midpoint, where depth = k. I'll leave the rest to you....
